Street map of Indianapolis's Far Eastside with the Asset Map service area outlined in gold: East 46th Street to East Washington Street, and Arlington Avenue to Carroll Road.

Some of the most dependable businesses on the Far Eastside are the hardest to find. The caterer who handles every family reunion on the block. The painter whose work you only hear about from a neighbor. The childcare provider, the landscaper, the jewelry maker who sells out at every pop-up. Many of them have no storefront and no website, and you will not find them on Google.

We want to change that. MVGeneral is building the Far Eastside Small Business Asset Map, a free, public directory of the small businesses that keep this part of Indianapolis running, so neighbors, schools, and local buyers can find them and hire them.

Add your business to the map. It takes about five minutes.

Who Should Join

If you run a business on the Far Eastside, it counts. That includes:

  • Home-based and side businesses. Hair, catering, crafts, cleaning, childcare. If you run it from home, it counts.
  • Trades and services. Painting, landscaping, electrical, flooring, repairs, and more.
  • Shops, food, and makers. Storefronts, food vendors, artists, and new businesses just getting started.

The map covers the Far Eastside from 46th Street to Washington Street, and from Arlington Avenue to Carroll Road.

Why a Construction Firm Is Doing This

Diverse procurement is part of what we do every day. At Warren Central High School, where MVGeneral is working with Meyer Najem on the modernization of the school’s athletic campus, we manage outreach to minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses so that public dollars reach local firms. Over and over we see the same gap: schools, institutions, and larger buyers want to hire locally, and capable local businesses are ready to do the work, but the two never find each other.

A directory is the simplest fix. That is why the sign-up form asks two questions you might not expect: whether you are interested in work from schools, institutions, or larger local buyers, and the largest job you are comfortable taking on. Your answers help us connect the right opportunities to the right businesses, at a size that fits.

You Stay in Control

Joining is free, and the listing is yours:

  • You choose what is listed. For your phone, email, and website, you decide whether each one is shown publicly. Anything you do not mark “Yes” stays private.
  • We never sell your information.
  • Every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live.
  • You can update or remove your listing anytime, or email contact@mvgeneral.com. We confirm with you before anything changes.

Find Us at Daptoberfest

We will be collecting sign-ups in person at Daptoberfest: Homecoming ‘26 on Saturday, October 24, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Warren Central High School, 9500 East 16th Street, the same campus where our team is at work. The festival brings together more than 150 Black- and minority-owned businesses, and it was started to spotlight businesses without a traditional storefront or website. That is exactly who this map is for. Admission is free with an RSVP on Eventbrite.

Stop by our table to fill out a short form on paper, or scan the code on our flyer to sign up on your phone.

Can’t make it? Sign up online today. And if you know a business owner who belongs on this map, send them this page.
